Dr. Tanja has wanted to become a veterinarian for as long as she can remember. She loves how this profession combines caring for animals with the natural sciences and problem-solving skills, and it never seems to get boring. It is a privilege to support you and your pet during the good as well as the difficult times, and it is so rewarding to be able to make a positive difference to your pet’s wellbeing.
Though Tanja grew up in Germany, she studied veterinary medicine at the Royal Dick School of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery in Edinburgh. After graduating in 2019, she decided to move to Canada because she is quite passionate about the snow-capped mountains and the outdoors that this country has to offer.
Dr. Tanja Schnabel initially completed a 1-year internship at an equine-only clinic, before deciding to work with small animals. Here at Cottonwood Veterinary Clinic, she sees cats, dogs, ferrets, rabbits, hamsters, rats and guinea pigs. Dr. Tanja has a special interest in cats, as well as internal medicine, cardiology and ophthalmology. She looks forward to becoming a part of the Chilliwack community.
