What is arthritis?

Arthritis is a disease that affects your pets’ joints. Pets of any age can experience inflammation in one or more joints causing pain, especially as they get older. The most common type is osteoarthritis.

How do I know if my pet has arthritis?

Depending on the degree of pain, pets can show different behavioural changes. If more severe, your once playful and active pet may suddenly be reluctant to go on walks. Other times, changes are subtle and your dog or cat might be slower to get up from lying down, sleep for longer, or hesitant to jump down from higher surfaces. Paying attention to these subtle changes is important so we can catch osteoarthritis as early as possible.
